Naturbeads has won a new SMART project with Innovate UK!
As the global population increases, providing proteins to meet everyone's needs is becoming more and more unsustainable. CO2 emissions, land availability, and generally intensive farming are more and more difficult to accept.
Cellular Agriculture - the science of producing meat in a laboratory promises to create a substantially more efficient protein supply. The industry is still in the very early stages and most of the players are start-ups. One such startup is Cellular Agriculture Ltd. from the Bath (UK ) (https://www.cellularagriculture.co.uk) with whom we have decided to collaborate to produce the ideal substrate for cultivated meat growth. This grant from Innovate UK will support our joint studies in this field.
